The initial design phase, which started with basic geometric shapes on each plot, aimed to showcase the villas by welcoming the island from all angles and maximizing the grandeur of the city skyline. Four distinct floors emerge from the waterfront, extending to the horizon, with a central spiral staircase leading to vast terraces on both the island and ocean sides.

Aware of the challenges of building an island from scratch, ZAYA launched the Nurai Island project without any pre-existing infrastructure, including roads, electricity, grid connections, sewage, or access to potable water. Through thorough oceanography and surveying, eroded beaches were reclaimed using exposed geo-bags and a sand pumping system, significantly expanding the island's size.
ZUHA was designed with sustainability and environmental respect in mind. From applying land-based construction techniques to passive cooling and heating systems, a single-use plastic policy, desalination, and water bottling, ZUHA embodies luxury in perfect harmony with nature. Building on an award-winning renewable energy project in 2016 on ZAYA Nurai Island, ZUHA is at the forefront of regenerative energy, using hybrid solar energy systems and extensive gray water recycling. Not only does ZUHA sustain itself with minimal environmental impact, but it also contributes to ocean preservation through various initiatives. Every effort has been made to establish a solid, sustainable, and self-sufficient foundation.
