The 10 most incredible buildings in Dubai

If we close our eyes and imagine the city of Dubai, it's a skyline filled with gigantic buildings that immediately comes to mind. This is no coincidence, for despite its youth, Dubai has become the third most skyscraper-rich city in the world. And that's just the beginning.

The city is constantly investing a great deal of resources in construction, with a clear goal in mind: to become the ideal city to live in and visit. Today, 20% of the world's cranes are located in Dubai, which already boasts over 150 buildings over 150 meters high. These dizzying figures give an idea of the scale of construction in Dubai. Today, we take you on a trip to Dubai to present the 10 most incredible buildings in Dubai.

Burj Khalifa

The Burj Khalifa is undoubtedly the city's most important building and an icon in its own right that is the pride of its residents. It's only fitting that it should receive all these honors, since it's the world's tallest building. With a height of 828 meters, it's a standard-bearer of modern construction in which over 12,000 people from all over the world took part over 6 years.

A visit to this grand Dubai building is a must for any traveler visiting the city. At its feet are two XXL attractions: the Dubai Mall (the world's largest shopping mall) and the Musical Fountains (also the world's largest).

In addition to the surroundings, you can climb to the observation decks on the 124th, 125th and 148th floors to enjoy a unique panoramic view of the big city. These floors feature unglazed areas where you can get some fresh air 500 meters up, coffee and tea areas and even a few restaurants.

The famous Burj Khalifa can be considered a vertical city, and there's room for a hotel. The luxurious Armani Hotel sits atop the 8th floor and offers several rooms that are only accessible to the very wealthy.

The elegant rooms are designed with curved lines and feature Japanese tatami mats, luxurious fabrics, flat-screen TV with DVD player, iPod docking station and free Wi-Fi. The Armani Hotel Dubai is home to the famous Armani Privé nightclub and seven gourmet restaurants. The Armani Hashi serves Japanese cuisine with a modern twist, and the extensive Armani Spa offers personalized treatments. The establishment is a 20-minute drive from Dubai International Airport.

Burj Khalifa

Dubai Frame

The Dubai Frame is gradually becoming one of the metropolis's representative symbols. It's a 150-meter frame-shaped building that symbolically brings together the city's past, present and future in a single pictogram.

On its upper deck, it offers one of the most privileged views in Dubai, thanks to its location and the few tall buildings surrounding it. In Dubai, nothing is left to chance, and the Dubai Frame acts as a dividing line between modern and ancient areas, continuing to give the monument metaphorical significance.

A visit to the Dubai Frame is a walk through the city's history. The first section, still at ground level, introduces visitors to the history of the metropolis. After visiting the museum, an elevator takes you to the top, to contemplate the present from above.

Burj Khalifa

Burj al Arab

Dubai wants to top every list in the world and, unsurprisingly, it has the most luxurious hotel in existence. Although its 321-meter height is a far cry from previous buildings, this sail-shaped architectural gem set on an artificial island is believed to be the world's only 7-star hotel.

As you can imagine, sleeping at the Burj Al Arab is one of the world's most rewarding hotel experiences. Sure, a stay at the Burj Al Arab isn't cheap, but it's an unforgettable experience!

The Burj Al Arab can be visited from the outside or the inside. To see and photograph the spectacular structure, the best option is from a beach, such as Jumeirah Beach.

Burj Khalifa

Emirates Towers

This fantastic complex is both a business center and a 5-star hotel made up of two towers (Emirates Towers One and Emirates Towers Two) measuring 355 and 309 meters respectively. At its base, the shopping mall connects the two towers and occupies an area of 9,000 square metres. The complex features a large garden, artificial waterfalls and relaxation areas.

Emirates Tower One, at 355 meters, was Dubai's tallest tower until the construction of Burj Khalifa. The tower has a total of 54 floors of office space.

Emirates Tower Two, meanwhile, is a 56-storey luxury hotel. Interestingly, the taller tower has fewer floors, as the office floors are higher than those of the hotel.

Staying at the Jumeirah Emirates Tower, the five-star hotel located in Emirates Tower Two, is a great experience, full of luxury and comfort.

Burj Khalifa

Cayan Tower

Also known as the Infinity Tower, this spectacular tower is located in Dubai Marina. This famous building is 306 meters high and has 73 floors. The feature that sets it apart from other Dubai towers is its spiral shape. In fact, it is the world's tallest “rotating” tower, with a rotation of 80 degrees. As is often the case, a shopping mall sits at its base.

The architects behind this feat are the engineering firm Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, a Chicago-based firm with some 85 years of history. Construction of the building took 7 years, from 2007 to 2013.

The Cayan Tower is well worth a visit, but it's especially recommended for fans of modern architecture. It's conveniently located, as you'll pass through it on your way to the Marina.

Burj Khalifa

Rose Rayhaan by Rotana

This impressive 333-metre, 71-storey tower is located on Dubai's Sheikh Zayed Road

Although its height has been reduced from the original project, the Rose Rayhaan skyscraper has the honor of being the world's tallest hotel. If you like to have a beautiful view from your bed, this is the hotel for you!

The macro-hotel was built in 2007 and cost a whopping $60 million. To visit it, you can stay in one of its 684 rooms (much more affordable than the hotels featured above), visit its cafeteria or request a table in one of its two restaurants. The hotel is close to the Dubai Mall and a 15-minute drive from Dubai International Airport.

Burj Khalifa

Deira Twin Towers

Located along Dubai Creek, these towers were built in 1995. For a city as young as Dubai in terms of urban planning, they can therefore be considered old.

The large shopping mall at the foot of these towers deserves a mention. These iconic Dubai buildings measure 102 meters and have 22 floors. Tower 1 is dedicated to residential units from the fourth floor upwards, while Tower 2 contains commercial units. There are stores, cafés, restaurants, a gym and other interesting facilities.

Burj Khalifa

Jumeirah Beach Hotel

This originally designed building proves that it's not just height that makes a building spectacular. With its distinctive wave-shaped silhouette, it blends perfectly with the sail of the nearby Burj Al Arab. The resort boasts a large number of luxurious rooms, 19 sea-view villas and 20 indoor dining venues.

In addition to the luxury inside the hotel, guests also enjoy benefits outside the hotel. The Jumeirah Beach Hotel boasts over 33,000 m2 of private beach and direct access to the Wild Wadi water park next door, with unlimited access for hotel guests. Dubai International Airport is 20 km away.

Burj Khalifa

Marina 101

Let's not forget the gigantic Marina 101, Dubai's second-tallest building. With its imposing 426.5-meter height and 101 floors (hence the name, of course), it boasts 300 hotel rooms inside and 506 luxury apartments with private service included. It was completed in 2016, so its interior is extremely modern.

Burj Khalifa

Princess Tower

This is another one of those giants that makes you roll your eyes at the sky with your mouth open. With a height of 413.4 meters and 101 floors, this building can be considered a vertical neighborhood since it is a skyscraper dedicated to housing.

Burj Khalifa

Pentominium: the 10 + 1 building!

To finish off this list, we wanted to add this project which has not yet been completed. Although work is currently at a standstill, the Pentominium will measure no less than 516 meters and have 122 floors. Yet another example of Dubai's ambitious vertical growth!
