Cristiano Ronaldo buys a palace on Jumeirah Bay Island Dubai

The Portuguese football star has decided to invest and settle in the Middle East after his first season with the Saudi club Al Nassr: Jumeirah Bay Island, already known as Dubai's "billionaires' island," will be his new place of residence. The project consists of 20 residences and will be completed by the end of 2024. Although the price has not yet been disclosed, it is certain to reach tens of millions of euros, as no plot is priced lower than €24.7 million.

Jumeirah Bay Island already surpasses the famous palm-shaped artificial island in Dubai in terms of exclusivity.

Palace Luxury Living and Jumeirah Bay Island

The Palace Luxury Living project and concept, led by Ashkay Naheta, a former executive of the SoftBank group, and Lebanese developer Wissam Damaa, is behind the development of Jumeirah Bay Island, an enclave aimed at attracting billionaires. This new gated community overshadows such exclusive locations as the famous Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Hills, and Emirates Hills, where the same company has interests. No less.

Cristiano earns €124.3 million per year as a footballer... advertising is separate

It's not just about money for Cristiano, whose contract with Al Nassr earns him €124.3 million annually and makes him the highest-paid athlete in the world, until golfer John Rahm signed a contract to leave the PGA Tour for LIV Golf, also in Saudi Arabia, for €525 million over three years. For the record, three days later, Rahm himself was surpassed by Japanese Shohei Ohtani: the Dodgers baseball team will pay €640 million for him to stay with them for ten years.

Nothing is missing

A yacht club, a private beach club, a marina, and Michelin-starred restaurants are some of the attractions of the new Jumeirah Bay Island community. Cristiano will be joined by Saudi billionaire Mohammed Abdul Latif Jameel, Israeli real estate magnate Teddy Sagi, and Isabel dos Santos, daughter of former Angolan President José Eduardo dos Santos, who was once Africa's richest woman. Luxury establishments such as the Bvlgari Resort and hotels from the Mandarin Oriental and Four Seasons chains are already present on the island.

For the record, it's worth mentioning that the footballer also owns La Finca mansion in Madrid and is building another one in Cascais (Portugal), with glass walls, four floors, four luxury suites, a cinema, a gym, and a tennis court, whose estimated price of €20 million would make it the most expensive in the country.
